James "Jim" Wesley Richey
April 9, 1917 - February 9, 1912

James Wesley (Jim) Richey, Sr., age 94, was born on April 9, 1917, and went home to be with his Lord on February 9, 2012.  Jim was preceded in death by his wife, of 70 years, Pauline “Shug” Richey, his parents and four brothers.

 

His funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2012, at Broussard’s, 134 Buccaneer Drive, in Winnie, Texas with burial in Abshier Cemetery in Hankamer.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening, February 12, 2012, at Broussard’s.

 

Jim and Pauline lived in the Winnie/Anahuac and Chambers County area for many years prior to their retirement in 1985, while employed with the Lagow Ranches in Anahuac.  They moved to Austin to be closer to their daughter and resided at the Park Valley Health Care Center in Austin since 2008.  

 

Jim and Pauline’s children and their families include James Wesley Richey, Jr., and wife, Juanita of Anahuac, Patricia Adell Craigen and her husband, Clyde of Austin, and William Andrew Richey and his wife, Irena of Cypress; nine grandchildren,  James Wesley Richey, III and his wife, Mary Beth of Anahuac, Carla Richey of Winnie, Victoria Richey of Anahuac, Levi Richey of Houston, Taylor Craigen and his wife, Cindy of College Station, Marlene McCain and her husband, Wade of Athens, Alabama, Christi Moore and her husband, Eric of Midland, LaDonna Tindall and her husband, David of Cypress, Jonathan Richey of Cypress; seventeen great-grandchildren, Megan, Rachel, and Kyla Richey of Anahuac, Whitney Richey, Brendan and Madison Denton all of Anahuac, Tristan Richards, Chelsea, Taeler and Benjamin Moore of Midland, Leyla, Nathan and Mary Kate Tindall of Cypress, Abbie and Callie Craigen of College Station, Hannah and Ty McCain of Athens, Alabama; one great great-grandchild, Khayden James Raymond, Anahuac.

 

Pallbearers include his grandsons, Wesley, Levi, and Jonathan Richey, Taylor Craigen and dear friends Vernon McCain and Larry Clayman.

 

Memorial contributions in honor of Jim should be made to the Union Hall Baptist Church, 301 County Road 259, Liberty Hill, Texas  78642.
