Bessie Lucille Baird, 78, of Silsbee, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013.  She was born on December 19, 1934, in Newton, Kansas, to Nora Schaffer Anderson and Fred Anderson.

Survivors include the father of her children, Cecil Baird of Yuma, Arizona; children, Bertha Broom and her husband, Ricky, of Silsbee; Cecil O. Baird, Sr. and his wife, Sylvia, of Yuma, Arizona; James Baird Sr. and his wife, Peggy, of Silsbee; Grady Baird and his wife Maria, of Yuma Arizona; Tony Baird, Sr. and his wife Lupe, of Lumberton; and Robert Baird of Village Mills; grandchildren, Sonya Baird of Huntsville; Joseph Baird of Silsbee; Ricky Broom, Jr. and his wife, Joanna, of Corpus Christi; Cecil Baird, Jr. and his wife, Irene, of San Tan Valley, Arizona; Melody Baird; Frank Sisty and his wife, Marianne; and Lupe Bash and her husband, Frank, all of Phoenix, Arizona; James “B.J.” Baird and his wife, Brandi, of Groves; Telisha McCall and her husband, Jason, of Silsbee; Belen Baird of Phoenix, Arizona; Miguel Baird of Yuma, Arizona; Reyna Baird of Lumberton; Amanda Baird of Bridge City; and Tony Baird, Jr. of Lumberton; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers and sisters.

A gathering of Ms. Baird’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2013, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Village Mills, Highway 69 North, Village Mills, with interment to follow at Shady Groves Cemetery, Woodville.
