Mildred "Boots" A. Boyd

Mildred A.
“Boots” Boyd, 87, of Port Neches, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Oak Grove
Nursing Home. She was born on October 10, 1925, in Floyd, Texas, to the late Georgia
Deaton Morris and Leon Delbert Morris. She had been a resident of the area
since 1942, with her husband of sixty-three years, J.L. Boyd. Mildred devoted
her life to her family and friends. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Mildred enjoyed shopping and many arts and crafts including painting, crochet,
and ceramics.
Survivors
include her sons, Ronald D. Boyd of Nacogdoches and Robert L. Boyd and his
wife, Janelle, of Bridge City; grandchildren, Eric D. Boyd and his wife, Jenny
and Farrell Boyd, all of Corpus Christi, and Robert Boyd II and his wife Kesha,
of Orangefield; great-grandchildren, Elle Marie Boyd, Thomas M. Boyd, Kiley
Renee Boyd, and Kristina Rae Boyd; and numerous other family members.
Mildred is
preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers; and one sister.
A gathering of
Mrs. Boyd’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday,
June 28, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her
funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Broussard’s,
with entombment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
