Margaret Ann “Marge” Hargis, 74, of Beaumont, died Friday, June 14, 2013. She was born on October 15, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Catherine Falter Burdick and Lyle Burdick, and had been a longtime resident of the Beaumont area.
Marge was a very loving and thoughtful person. She enjoyed pleasing everyone by cooking for them. She also enjoyed sewing, raising African violets, and was addicted to bowling.
Marge is survived by her husband, Michael Hargis; daughter, Michele Chaisson and her husband, Chris, of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Anthony Herring, Devin Herring, and Cole Chaisson; step-grandchildren, Kaigen Chaisson and Christopher Chaisson; and brother, Edward Burdick of Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of Mrs. Hargis’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Broussard’s. A family committal will be at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Hargis’ name to American Cancer Society, 755 South 11th Street, Suite 212, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
