Anita Joan Connally, 81, of Silsbee, died May 8, 2013.  She was born on October 4, 1931, in Groveton, to Mamie Myers McClain and Otha McClain.  Mrs. Connally was a retired Indigent Healthcare Director for Hardin County.

Survivors include her sons, J.P. Connally and his wife, Angie, of Silsbee; Jerry Connally and his wife, Sheila, of Port Neches; and Jack Connally and his wife, Dana, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Clare Connally of Austin; Trey Connally and his wife, Chelsie, of Cincinnati, Ohio; Cory Connally and his wife, Kristi, of Austin; Travis Connally of Silsbee; and Chad Connally of Pensacola, Florida; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Khloe Connally of Austin; and Raegan Connally of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Bob McClain and his wife, Dot, of Deweyville and Larry McClain of Crockett; sister-in-law, Opal McClain of Ratcliff; and numerous nieces, nephews, many close friends, and neighbors.    She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Connally; brothers, Charles McClain; Otho McClain; and Jerry McClain; and sister, Billie McMullen.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to Mrs. Connally’s dear neighbors, Patsy and Homer Spurlock and the staff of Silsbee Convalescent Center.

A gathering of Mrs. Connally’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2013, at Broussard’s 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Broussard’s.  Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m., Antioch Cemetery, in Ratcliff.
