Kenna N. Vanover, 86, of Beaumont, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. He was born on December 23, 1926, in Beaumont, to Opal and Finis Vanover, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Kenna was a United States Army veteran and was a retired production supervisor from Mobil Oil.

 

He is survived by his wife, Christine Vanover of Beaumont; sons, Ken Vanover and his wife, Marsha, of Beaumont; Finis Vanover and his wife, Karen, of Tomball; and Ronald Vanover and his wife, Suzanne, of Beaumont; daughter-in-law, Sharon Tilley Vanover of Pasadena; grandchildren, Jeff Vanover and his wife, Lisa, of Houston; Lindsay Vanover of New Hampshire; Justin Vanover and his wife, Vicki, of Beaumont; Tanner Vanover; James Looney; and Kara Lantrip aand her husband, Nick; great-grandchildren, Jackson Vanover and Mia Lantrip; and numerous other loving family members.

 

Kenna was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Carrol Lucious Vanover.

 

A gathering of Mr. Vanover’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.  His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2013, at Broussard’s, Winnie, with interment to follow at China Cemetery, China.   In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Vanover's name to: Alzheimer Asociation, 440 18th Street, Beaumont, Texas 77707; Church of Christ Building Fund, P. O. Bo 37, Winnie, Texas 77665; or to the charity of your choice.
