Rebecca "Becky" Blanchard

Rebecca “Becky” Blanchard, 55, of LaBelle, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on June 23, 1957, in Galveston, to Elnora Cassidy and Christobal N. Ortiz, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont. Becky was a published author and photographer and had been employed with Beaumont Enterprise for ten years.

She is survived by her husband of thirty-eight years, Curtis Blanchard; children, Beverly Chris Neel, Blake Curtis Blanchard, and Haylee Rebecca Shoemaker; grandchildren, Jacie Lynne Neel, Alix Kinsey Neel, Carly Evan Neel, Ethan Blake Blanchard, Bailey Danielle Blanchard, and Cole Alexander Shoemaker; mother, Elnora Cassidy; and sisters, Jacalyn Ceballos, Christina Carillo, and Lisa Garnett.

Becky is preceded in death by her father, C. N. “Peanut” Ortiz.

A gathering of Mrs. Blanchard’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 29, 2013, at Broussard’s. A family committal will be at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
