Ida Verlon Jenkins, 85, of Silsbee, died Sunday, March 3, 2013. She was born on December 8, 1927, in Deadwood, to Lula Mae Boyd Hemby and John Wesley Hemby.
Survivors include her daughter, Belva Jenkins Runyan and her husband, Robert, of Kountze; son, Alan Jenkins of Silsbee; grandchildren, Robert Jeffrey Runyan of Houston and Daryl Runyan of McKinleyville, California; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, J.W. Hemby and his wife, Margaret, of Beaumont; and sister, Billie Sue Loftin of Silsbee. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.J. Jenkins; sister, Talmadge Dunlap; brother, T.K. Hemby; and brother-in-law, George Dunlap.
A gathering of Mrs. Jenkins’ family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Interment will follow at R.S. Farmer Cemetery, Silsbee.
