Rose “Rosie” Marie Wells Fowler, 71, of Carthage and formerly of Winnie, died Saturday, January 12, 2013, in Carthage. She was born on February 25, 1941, to Rose Mae Myers East and Eddie East. Rosie was a very talented lady; she enjoyed working on crafts, sewing, and cooking for her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd Fowler of Carthage; son, Mike Wells of Nederland; daughters, Sheila Abshire, of Carthage and Frances Pentland and her husband, Rob, of Longview; brother, Ray East and his wife, Lucille, of Port Arthur; and numerous relatives and friends.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Mark East and Ray East and his wife, Lucille.
A gathering of Mrs. Fowler’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., January 16, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
