Jerry Batiste, 70, of Winnie, died Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.
He worked as a farm laborer before retiring as a truck driver in 2007 from M & J Fertilizer of Winnie.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Nancy Batiste of Winnie; daughter, Tracey Hodges and her husband, Chris; grandson, Kendall Hodges, all of Kensett, Arkansas; goddaughter, Brandy White of Sugarland; brother, Jeffrey Batiste and his wife, Ethel, of California; sisters, Mary Frances Tarver of Anahuac, and Ida Beverly and her husband, Joseph,of China; aunt, Melda Gordon of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and numerous other family members and friends.
A gathering of Mr. Batiste’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. with his memorial service to follow at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
