Doward Leon Simpson, 88, of Silsbee, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in Beaumont. He was born on December 1, 1923, in Goldthwaite, Texas, to Leatrice Cordell Langford and Henry Allen Simpson. D.L. was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Lynnette Simpson Williford; grandsons, Michael Simpson and his wife, Lisa; Heath Allen Simpson, and Manson Fannett; granddaughters, Cheyanne Simpson, Shawnee Simpson, and Dakota Goss; great-grandsons, Christian, Cole Allen, and Kade Simpson; and great-granddaughter, Ashton Simpson. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Simpson; and son, Doward Allen “Poncho” Simpson.
A gathering of Mr. Simpson’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His graveside service will be 9:00 a.m., Thursday, November 22, 2012, at Turner Branch Cemetery, Spurger.
