Patsy Ann Overstreet, 61, of Kountze, died Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on December 9, 1950, in Arcola, Mississippi, to Hilder May Evans Griffin and Willie Ray Griffin, and had been a longtime resident of Kountze. Patsy was a retired middle school teacher with Kountze Independent School District for twenty-one years.
Survivors include her husband of forty-three years, Bill Overstreet; daughters, Tina Michelle Overstreet of Fort Worth and Lisa Lea Massey of Huntington; grandsons, Ryan William Overstreet and Cody William Massey; father, Ray Griffin of Vidor; sisters, Jane Marie Jordan of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Dorothy Elaine Allen and her husband, Donnie, of Oxford, Mississippi; and Melinda Pierce of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and brother, Michael Ray Griffin and his wife, Judy, of Lake Lincoln, Mississippi.
She is preceded in death by her mother; and sister, Margaret Faye Ratcliff.
A gathering of Mrs. Overstreet’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 8, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Kountze, 100 Monroe, Kountze, with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
