Essie Lou Messer
February 11, 1936 - October 4, 2012

Essie Lou Messer, 76, of Woodville, died Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.  She was born in Barbers Hill on February 11, 1936, to Willie Marie Freeman Golden and Thomas Golden, and had been a resident of Woodville since 1996.

 

Survivors include her husband, Charles D. Messer; children, Charles D. Messer, Jr. of Silsbee, Cathy D. Harvill of Joaquin, Sandra R. Gernand of Jasper, and Charlotte A. Causey of San Antonio; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

 

A memorial service for Mrs. Messer will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Missionary Baptist Church, Highway 92, Spurger under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  Her committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
