Opal Faye Sheffield, 87, of Spurger, died Monday, September 17, 2012, in Beaumont. She was born on June 21, 1925, in Spurger, to Bula Haire and John Levins.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-nine years, David Sheffield; children, Mable White of Nederland; Pamela VanCleave and her husband, Rex, of Sugarland; Linda Ramey and her husband, Rick, of Humble; Michael Sheffield of Prairieville, Louisiana; and Ronnie Sheffield of Beaumont; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Thurman Levins and his wife, Verna, of Spurger. She is preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Bobby White; three sisters; and two brothers.
A gathering of Mrs. Sheffield’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Turner Branch Cemetery, Spurger.
