Edward L. Nelson, 88, of Beaumont, formerly of Houston, died Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Summer Place Nursing and Rehabilitation, Beaumont. He was born on January 10, 1924, in Port Neches, to Cecile Johnson Nelson and Fred Nelson. Edward was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II, and was a retired chemical engineer with Hudson Engineering.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Barbara Nelson; daughter, Amy Nelson; and one granddaughter, all of Beaumont.
A committal for Mr. Nelson was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
