Van Peters
June 7, 1922 - August 28, 2012

Van Peters, 90, of Vidor, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Vidor Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Zwolle, Louisiana, to Amanda Williams Peters and William Hinker Peters, he was a mechanic for the Beaumont Fire Department. Van was a World War II United States Army veteran.

Survivors include his daughters, Opal Jean Pascal, of Hornebeck, Louisiana; Marie Lipscomb, of Texarkana, Texas; Barbara Arrant, of Shreveport, Louisiana; and Gwendolyn Hanes, of Bethany, Oklahoma; sister, Bernice Langdon, of Flint, Michigan; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Mr. Peters family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2012, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m., with interment at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont.

Military honors will be provided by Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group.
