Paul Hughes Barker, 60, of Winnie, died on Tuesday, August 7, 2012. He was born October 11, 1951, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Eunice Norton and Albert Barker. Paul worked as a petroleum land consultant since 1977, and was one of the best. He was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life, until the last several years, when he enjoyed observing the wildlife instead.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Vratis Barker of Winnie; son, Paul H. “Biggie” Barker, Jr. of Cypress; daughters, Samantha Barker of Denver, Colorado and Julie Barker of Austin; brothers, David Barker and his wife, Margaret of Monroe, Louisiana; and Jon Barker and his wife, Claudine, of Ruston, Louisiana; “grand dogs”, Brutus and Riley and a host of relatives and dear friends.
A graveside service for Mr. Barker will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2012, at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview Cemetery Road, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.
The family would like to thank the staff of Odyssey Hospice for their loving care they gave Paul.
