Carolyn “Kakkie” Alexander, 70, of Sour Lake, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012. A native and lifelong resident of Sour Lake, she was born on November 11, 1941, to Lorieta Cole Johnson and Joseph H. Johnson. Carolyn had been employed with Wilson’s Grocery for thirty years.
Survivors include her husband, Milton “Mickey” Alexander; daughters, Denise Thibodeaux and her husband, Steven; and Dana Benson and her husband, Craig, all of China; sisters, Marilyn Brast of Bellville; brothers, Buddy Johnson of Kountze, Mike Johnson of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Mike Martin of China; Tara Cook and her husband, Derek, of Nome; Kayla Laird and her husband, Cory, of China; and Brett Benson of Sour Lake; and great-grandchildren, Jesse Martin and Lily Laird.
A gathering of Mrs. Alexander’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Broussard’s 530 West Monroe, Kountze. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Sour Lake.
