James Hersel Ruso, 83, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, formerly of Silsbee, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at St. Joseph-Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
He was born October 26, 1928, to Avie L. Whitehead Ruso and James William Ruso, in San Augustine, Texas, and had been a resident of the Richmond Hill area for three years. James was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife Mary Wells Ruso; daughter, Deanna Lukich and her husband, Mark, of Richmond Hill, Georgia; grandchildren, Everett Carroll, Caitlin Carroll, Taylor Lukich, John Lukich, and Jason Lukich; brothers, Glenn Ruso and his wife, Mozelle, of Buna; and Wayne Ruso and his wife, Linda of Lumberton; sister, Sue Peveto of Kountze; and his pets, Jessie and Skippy.
James is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Helen Crocker and Hazel Gordon.
A gathering of Mr. Ruso’s family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the Honey Island Assembly of God Church, 9097 FM 1293, in Honey Island. His funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2012, at the Honey Island Assembly of God Church, with interment to follow at Hall Cemetery, Thicket, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
