Donald Albert Amann, Sr., 88, of Beaumont, previously of Nassau Bay, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012.
He was born September 7, 1923, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Albert Amann and Anna Duffy Amann. Don was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Loyola University, he worked for Chevron, Exxon and NASA. An avid musician, Don played saxophone, flute, clarinet and piccolo.
Don is survived by his daughter, Kathryn McAnulty and her husband, Larry of Beaumont, son, Vaughn Amann and his wife, Rebecca of Austin; grandchildren, Shannon Totten and husband, Eric of Bermuda, Amber Amann of Atlanta, Georgia, Lindy McAnulty of Austin, Krista Morris and her husband, Lee of Dallas, Catherine Amann and Shaun Amann of Austin; great-grandchildren, Haley Rojas, Max Totten, Elizabeth Totten, Kinsey Morris and Grant Morris.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of fifty-four years, Kathryn “Lyn” Amann; and his son, Donald Albert Amann, Jr.
There will be a family graveside service at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Algiers, Louisiana at a later date. Cremation arrangements were handled by Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
