Charles Ray Huckaby, Sr., 69, of Beaumont, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at Dubuis Hospital, Beaumont.
He was born February 23, 1943, to Roberta Marbury Huckaby and Wallace Huckaby, and had been a resident of the Beaumont area most of his life. Charles was a district manager for S.W. Auto Chlor with twenty-five years of service. He was completely devoted to his wife, family and friends and was a soft hearted animal lover. Charles had a passion for hunting, fishing, and was an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Charlotte Huckaby of Beaumont; son, Charles Huckaby, Jr. and his wife, Kris of Dickinson; grandchildren, Krista Huckaby, Holly Huckaby, Kendall Huckaby, and Karynn Huckaby; brothers, Wallace “Buster” Huckaby of Red Rock, and Robert Martin of New Orleans, Louisiana; daughter-in-law, Krisha Huckaby; sister, Jeanette Merrill of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and by his brother, Jessie Frederick.
A gathering of his family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Broussard’s, with entombment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
