Jeanette Barnes
February 13, 1939 - April 9, 2012

Jeanette Barnes, 73, of Beaumont, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.  She was born February 13, 1939, to Bernice Smith and Hickman B. Barron in Alexandria, Louisiana.

 

Jeanette retired from Helena Lab where she worked for many years as a contract sales secretary. She was a wonderful, hard working woman who devoted her life to helping her family whenever called upon. Jeannette lovingly cared for her daughter, Misty and had a special love for each one of the children she raised; Ricky, Joannie, Brenda, Melody, Misty and Velvet. She left this earth with the peace of God in her heart and prayed for the well being of everyone she loved each night.

 

Jeanette believed in the Words Written in Red and will be missed so very much by her family and dear dear friends.

 

Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Barbara Crowell and her husband, Curtis of Lumberton, Brenda Barnes of Lumberton, Melody Wells and her husband, Robbie of China, Misty Barnes and Velvet Kaspar, both of Beaumont; nephews, Rick Stabile and his wife, Kim of Arkansas and Nick Stabile and his wife, Cheryl of Beaumont; grandchildren, Angela Robbins, Lauren Akins, Joseph Arpin, Amy Huff, Anne Etie, Jake Kaspar, Kara Kaspar, Calla Wells, Lindsey Wells and Taylor Wells; great-grandchildren, Tori Akins, Mason Robbins, Trace Robbins, Logan Huff, Riley Huff, Madison Huff, Nolan Etie, Jaxson Etie, Naomi Arpin, Isabella Arpin and Alton James (A.J.) Stagg; and many other family members and dear friends.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; father of her children, Benny Barnes; grandson, Ben Stagg; sister, Doris Barron; and lifelong friend, Kathy Barnes.

 

A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 13, 2012, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 245 West Highway 90, China, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s.
