Garland Sonnier, 50, of Vidor, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Houston. Son of Bertha Latiolais Sonnier and Abraham Sonnier, he was born May 17, 1961, and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a risk manager for the Beaumont Catholic Diocese and a member of Generations Church in Beaumont.
Survivors include his wife, Michele Sonnier of Vidor; son, Bryan Sonnier and his wife, Jonna of Dallas; mother, Bertha Sonnier of Beaumont; sisters, Wanda Cormier and Camella Chopin, both of Lafayette, Louisiana; brother, Charles Theriot of Carencro, Louisiana; and numerous family and friends.
A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Broussard’s.
