Lonnie Earl Bryce, 75, of Stowell, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at Methodist Hospital, Houston. He was born March 12, 1937, in Obar, New Mexico to Ruby Corbett Bryce and Buford Clell Bryce.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Wanda Cathey Bryce of Stowell; sons, Gary Bryce of Stowell and Lonnie C. Bryce and his wife, Kris, of Anahuac; daughter, Marsha Matthews and her husband, Mason of Stowell; brothers, Roger Bryce and his wife, Bonnie of Toledo Bend and Richard Bryce and his wife, Marilyn of Peggs, Oklahoma; sisters, Ruby Barrett and her husband, Homer, of Oklahoma, Naoma Smith and her husband, Smitty, and Jean Phelps, both of Winnie; four grandchildren, Brian Bryce, Lani Hasson, Katherine Matthews and Dakota Matthews; two great grandchildren, Tyler Hasson and Jayce Hasson; brother in laws, Paul Cathey, of Iowa, Louisiana and Allen Cathey, of Winnie; sister in law Nancy Carter and her husband, John of Winnie; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bryce was preceded in death by a brother, George Bryce; sister, Faye Kunefke; brother in laws, Frank Phelps, Sr., Kenneth Cathey, and Clovis Cathey; and sister in laws, Joy Shelton, and Mary Jean Sherrill. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2012, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Broussard’s, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
