Joe “Joey” Anthony Martinez, Jr., 46, of Beaumont, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. Born January 28, 1966, to Mary Ita Lozano Martinez and Joe Anthony Martinez, Sr., he had been a lifelong resident of the area.
Joey loved shopping and was the “king” of QVC. He loved spending time with his nieces and his nephew. He always thought of others before himself and was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, nephew, brother-in-law, cousin and friend. Joey will deeply missed by all.
He is survived by his father, Joe Anthony Martinez, Sr. of Beaumont; sister, Diane Barboza and her husband, Flint of Beaumont; nieces, Kathryn and Abby; nephew, Julian; and many other family members and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ita Lozano Martinez.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated 2:00 p.m.,Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson Street, Beaumont with a committal to follow at Broussard’s Crematorium, 5150 Stivers Drive, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica School, 850 Forsythe Street, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
