Jenny Smith Kerr, 62, of Port Neches, died Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont.
She was born February 1, 1950, to Miriam Alene Munson Smith and James Arthur Smith, in Lufkin, and had been a resident of the Port Neches area since childhood. Jenny enjoyed arts and crafts and reading. She was a member of the Port Neches Community Advisory Panel, and Motiva Community Advisory Panel.
Jenny had a big heart, and she loved her children and grandchildren. She would do anything for anyone and give the shirt off her back to help someone.
Survivors include her daughters, Kimberly Philen and her husband, Michael of Bridge City and Alicia Montondon and her husband, Michael of Nederland; grandchildren, Kerrah Cappel of Bridge City, Alexis Montondon and Gavin Montondon, both of Nederland; brother, Larry Jacobs, Sr. and his wife, Dell of Nederland; sister, Karen Domingue and her husband, Craig of Nederland; three nephews; one niece; two great-nieces; and two-great nephews.
Jenny is preceded in death by her parents; and her granddaughter, Kelceé Cappel.
A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, 1826 Nall Street, Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, with a graveside service at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday afternoon at Largent Cemetery, Hudson, Texas, under the direction of Broussard’s.
