Mary Ann Rich
December 18, 1921 - March 28, 2012

Mary Ann Rich passed away on March 28, 2012, in Beaumont, Texas at the age of 90.

She was born on December 18, 1921, in Scalp Level, Pennsylvania. A former resident of Avon Park, Florida and Windber, Pennsylvania, she moved to Beaumont in 1999 where she was a resident of the Atria Collier Park Senior Living Community. Mary Ann graduated from John Hay High School in Cleveland, Ohio in 1939. She spent most of her life in Windber, Pennsylvania before retiring in Avon Park, Florida. She came to Beaumont after the death of her husband. She is a member of St Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed her family, reading, playing bridge, and golf.

Survivors include her five loving children, Alexander Rich, Jr. and his wife, the former Victoria Aminio of Tampa, Florida, Peter Rich and his wife, the former Gail Petrilla of Overland Park, Kansas, Darlene Horn and her husband, David of North Canton, Ohio, David Rich and his wife,  the former Susan Holden of Fort Worth,  and Jim Rich and his wife, the former Kathy Blackford of Beaumont;  seventeen grandchildren, Christopher Rich of Leola, Pennsylvania, Gregory Rich of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Geoffrey Rich of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Jaison Rich of Olathe, Kansas, Danielle Adams of Overland Park, Kansas, Jennifer Lange of Nederland, Texas, Alison Fischer of Coppell, Texas, Kelley Horn of Cleveland, Ohio, Kim Horn of Cleveland, Ohio, Nathaniel Rich of Santa Barbara, California, Joshua Rich of Chula Vista, California, Sarah Rich of Dallas, and Nicholas Rich, Andrew Rich, Rebecca Rich, Matthew Rich, and Patrick Rich, all of Fort Worth;  seventeen great-grandchildren;  six sisters,  Dorothy Chapman of Little River, South Carolina, Lillian Verna of Lauderdale by the Sea,  Florida, June Campane of Chesterland, Ohio, Ethel Kanas of Chardon, Ohio, Cecelia Heckler of Windber, Pennsylvania, and Shirley Schmidt of Las Vegas, Nevada; and brother, Tom Kanas of Houston.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Susan (Hadzima) Kanas; brothers, Albert and George Kanas; and her spouse, Alexander Rich who died on January 1, 1996.

A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont.  Cremation arrangements are being handled under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium.
