Nina Elizabeth Franklin

She was born September 30, 1932, to Lillian Edith Smith Stacey and Alexander Paul Stacey, Sr., in Stultz, Missouri, and had been a resident of this area since 1955. She was an active member of the Red Hat society for the past ten years. Nina enjoyed playing cards anytime or anywhere and was an avid reader. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Nina is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Stacie Lynn Franklin; brother, Alexander Paul Stacey, Jr.; and sister, Minnie Alice Halsey.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-six years, Bob Franklin of Nederland; daughter, Jerrie Lea Franklin of Leander; sisters, Louise McJunkin of Greenville, South Carolina, Jackie Stacey of Nederland, and Irene Ethington of Columbia, Missouri; brother, David Stacey and his wife, Margaret of Beaumont; nephew, Robbie Stacey and his wife, Kristina of Allen; great-niece, Kaitlyn Stacey; great-nephew, Dylan Stacey; and many more beloved nieces and nephews.

A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland. Her graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, 101 Block Street, Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s.
