Jimmy “Randy” Hartwick, 64, of Beaumont, passed away, Friday, March 16, 2012, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont.
A native of Port Neches, he was born October 7, 1947, to Stella Wise Dean and Jiggs Hartwick; and had been a resident of the Beaumont area most of his life. Randy owned and operated a dump truck which he thoroughly loved.
In his spare time he loved to shoot pool, talk politics, gardening, watching hummingbirds, talk dump trucking, and playing with his grandchildren; in addition to owning and operating candy machines in the area.
Survivors include his wife of fifteen years, Ann Bowers Hartwick of Beaumont; children, Brandy Upshaw and her husband, Kevin of Evadale, and Justin Hartwick and his wife, Jolie of Beaumont; grandchildren, Kade Upshaw, Brianna Upshaw, and Rowdy Hartwick; sisters, Trena Richards, Charlotte Stafford, and Mitzi Hensarling; brother, John Scroggins; several nieces and nephews; aunt, Bobbie Drake and her husband, George; and uncle, Donald Hartwick and his wife, Shelby.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of his family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 19, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
