Eloise Marjorie Grubb Peckham

Eloise Marjorie Grubb Peckham
March 25, 1919 - March 11, 2012

Eloise Marjorie Peckham, 92, of Port Neches, died Sunday, March 11, 2012, after a brief illness at the Medical Center of Southest Texas, Port Arthur.  Born March 25, 1919 in Ragley, Louisiana to Hazel and William Grubb, she was a lifelong resident of the area.  Eloise loved to stay busy and retired from Neches Butane after thirty-seven years as the secretary to the plant manager.  Two months later she returned to work as a legal secretary to Fred Carver, attorney of law.  Eloise served as president of the American Business Women’s Association and the Mid-County Single’s dance club.  She was a caretaker by heart, never met a stranger and spent much of her life caring for and helping others.  She was not one who accumulated many earthly possessions, as she gave most everything to those in need.  Eloise was a wonderful lady who made a difference in so many lives.  Now that she has passed, she is surely rejoicing in Heaven in living reunited with her family, friends and animals she so dearly loved.  As some have said, when Eloise was made they broke the mold because there was no one else like her.

She is survived by her son, Don W. Morgan of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Donna Morgan DiBattista and her husband, John, Brad Morgan and his wife, Lesa and Debbie Morgan Richard and her husband, Reed, all of Nederland; great grandchildren, Amy Chenault Rutty, Ryan Chenault, Brian Morgan, Trey Duvall, Hannah Richard; and three great-great grandchildren, Kristin and Katie Rutty and Ashley Chenault.

Eloise is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles E. Peckham; and five siblings, J.W. Grubb, Junior Boy Grubb, Howard Grubb, Bobbie Gene Grubb and Francis Grubb Melton.

Her funeral service will be 10:00a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Broussard’s.
