Connie Prejean, 48, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, after battling brain cancer for four years.
A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born on February 16, 1964, to Dorothy LeMaire Jacobs and Larry Jacobs. Connie was an avid reader, enjoyed crafting, gardening and loved the beach. She often took her family on spontaneous visits to out of the ordinary places like a fourteen hour drive to West Texas to slide down a hill of sand. She received her Associates degree in Early Childhood Development and worked in the childcare industry for several years before getting married and starting her family.
Connie was very active in our community where she served as PTA president and volunteered on every level.
Connie is survived by her husband, Daryl Prejean; her sons, Jacob Prejean and Matthew Prejean; her mother, Dorothy LeMaire Jacobs; her sisters, Catherine Lee, Mary Lipnick, and Carey Messina; and her brother, Shannon Jacobs; and many other loving family members.
She is preceded in death by her father, Larry Jacobs.
A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Memorial Mass will be 12:00 Noon, Saturday, March 10, 2012, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s.
There will be a gathering of her family and friends following the service at Unity of Southeast Texas, 1555 S. 23rd Street, Beaumont, Texas 77705.
