Billy Earl Minton, Sr.

Born June 20, 1936, in San Augustine, to Lessie Bridges Minton and Burl Minton, he had lived in Vidor many years before residing in Beaumont for the last seven years. Mr. Minton was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict, and was a retired plant manager from Cintas Corporation after thirty-seven years of service.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Barbara “Beebo” Minton of Beaumont; children, Lucinda Unger of Vidor, Billy Minton, Jr. and his wife, Renée of Jasper, Lorilyn Huckaby and her husband, Jeff of Nome, Thomas Minton and his wife, Julie of Vidor, and Loretta Kibodeaux and her husband, Robert of Vidor; brothers, Fred Minton of Lumberton, David Simmons of Anchorage, Alaska, and Michael Simmons of Vidor; sisters, Judy Sims of Broaddus, and Janett De Shazo of Vidor; eleven grandchildren, Kara Harrington, Valerie Unger, Tyson Huckaby, Coy Minton, Jessica Huckaby Stelly, Russell Minton, Jared Unger, Jenna Unger, Ashley Minton, Danielle Minton, and Lee Ann Kibodeaux; and four great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Frank Simmons; and brother, Don Minton.

A Rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m., with a gathering of his family and friends to follow, Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 9, 2012, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont with interment to follow at Granger Cemetery, Orangefield, under the direction of Broussard’s.
