Kenneth C. Rightmer, 72, of Nederland, died Saturday, March 3, 2012. He was born February 16, 1940, to Cora Hausler and Willie Cecil Rightmer in Round Rock, Texas.
Kenneth retired as a chemist from the local Huntsman Corporation Refinery after forty-five years of employment, and also taught preschool age children Sunday School for twenty-seven years. He enjoyed genealogy, reading and woodworking. Kenneth was a man that was known for having many interests and also being a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Janice Rightmer of Nederland; daughters, Kimberly Miller and her husband, Gary and Julie Riggs, all of Nederland; grandchildren, Joshua, Rebekah and Moriah Miller and Cody Riggs; and sister, Betty Martin of Houston.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Cora Rightmer.
His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at First Baptist Church, 1911 Nederland Avenue, Nederland, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2012, at Broussard’s.
