Jason Wayne Jefferson went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2012, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston.
He was born on February 21, 1972, in Anahuac. Jason always had a smile on his handsome face and a heart as big as Texas, a gentle giant if you will. He loved the outdoors and sports, especially the San Francisco Forty-Niners. Go Forty-Niners!!
Jason is survived by his mother, Thelma Berwick Wheelis of Galveston; father, Jack Jefferson and his wife, Donna of Mississippi; step-father, Joseph Wheelis and his wife, Maryann of Galveston; sisters, Tammie McCall and her fiancé, Tom Sisic and Kassie Franklin and her husband, Emmitt; a host of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins, who he loved dearly; many special friends and a loving dog “Sassy Jo”.
A celebration of Jason’s life will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, March 3, 2012, with his uncle, Reverend Gordon Vaughn, officiating at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, in Winnie with burial to follow at High Island Cemetery. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday morning at Broussard’s.
Pallbearers will be Emmitt Franklin, George Egan V, Charlie Bumpass, Mike Colson, Cesar Castillo, and Todd Terro.
