Curtis Gamblin, 76, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
He was born July 7, 1935, to Mattie Lee Gamblin and James Fred Gamblin, in Sandia. He received his Master’s degree and went on to be a teacher for the Texas Public Schools Systems.
Survivors include his wife, Bettye of Lumberton; daughter, Carol Jordan and her husband, James of Lumberton; son, James Gamblin and his wife, Ann of McAllen; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Imes of Victoria and Flo Rankin of Woodsboro; and brother, Leo Gamblin of Victoria.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Bob Gamblin.
A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Beaumont.
