William "Bill" J. Maxwell
February 9, 1932 - February 26, 2012

William “Bill” Maxwell, 80, of Nederland, died Sunday, February 26, 2012, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur.  Born February 9, 1932, to Nedia Abshire Maxwell and W.C. Maxwell, he was a lifelong resident of Nederland. 

 

Bill was retired from the Nederland Independent School District and had also been employed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, First National Bank Port Neches, and Nederland State Bank.   He was a Veteran of the United States Army in the Military Police.

 

He is survived by his brother, Jimmie Maxwell of Nederland; sister, Alberta Pedigo and her husband, Jack of Wildwood; and seven nieces and nephews. 

 

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Clarence Maxwell and Eugene Maxwell.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of his family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2012, with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.
