Evelyn Beverly Brewer

Evelyn Brewer, 83, of Beaumont died February 25, 2012 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Born June 8, 1929 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, she was the daughter of Minnie Wellington Dafoe and William Dafoe. For twenty-five years, Evelyn ran the Child Care Department at First Baptist Church in Nederland and also worked at Wal-Mart for ten years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, weeding, and puzzles. Her family describes her as a hardworking, Godly woman.
She is survived by her daughters, Charmaine Fritchey and her husband, John of Spring, LaVetta Brewer of Denver, Colorado, Melony Puz and her husband, John of Nederland, and Shana Mercer and her husband, Troy of Buna; brother, Don Dafoe of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandchildren, Heather Woodcock, Joshua Erickson, Rachel Erickson, Kaitlin Mercer, Madison Mercer, and Jillian Mercer; and four great grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, E. R. Brewer; and brother, Billy Dafoe.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas.
