Carolyn Rose Wonders, 80, of Port Neches died February 10, 2012 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Born August 25, 1931 in Linton, Indiana and resident of Texas since 1977, she was the daughter of Mary Walton Love and Leo Love. Carolyn attended Union Hospital School of Nursing from 1949 until 1952 and received a Nursing diploma. Later in 1976, she returned to St. Mary of the Woods College and received her B.S. degree in Nursing. Through the years Carolyn obtained several national certifications in nursing processes and she retired as a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, sewing, and reading and her family describes Carolyn as beautiful, intelligent, caring and compassionate.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years, Orval Tillman “Till” Wonders of Port Neches; children, Gayann Corbin and her husband, Robert of Dickinson, Eric T. Wonders and his wife Teresa of Port Neches, and Scott F. Wonders and his wife, Ruth of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Matthew Wonders, Catherine Wonders, Jessica Guidroz, Kristen, Wohleb, Dustin Wonders, and Travis Wonders; and twelve great grandchildren. Her parents preceded Carolyn in death.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 at Broussard’s Chapel, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland followed by burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday evening, February 12, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
