Ruby Mae Bearden, 77, of LaBelle, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. Born November 4, 1934, to Beatrice Waters and Arthur Philpott in Port Acres, she had been a lifelong resident of the area. Ruby was a homemaker who enjoyed collecting dolls, angels and spending time with her dog, Susie Q.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Sue Bearden Bean of LaBelle, Mattie Lynn Baird and her husband, Billy of Joplin, Missouri and Pamela Jean Welch and her husband, Jerry of Nederland; sons, Robert Odell Bearden, Jr. and his wife, Vickie, Johnny Ray Bearden and his wife, Paula, all of LaBelle, Gary Michael Bearden and his wife, Lesley of Fannett, David Allen Bearden and his wife, Maddie of Groves, and Steven Paul Bearden of LaBelle; sisters, Linda Taliaferro of Port Acres, Rose Coats of Groves, Margie Chatagnier of Port Acres, and Elsie Richards of Port Neches; twenty-one grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Susie Q.
Ruby is preceded by her parents; sons, Henry Robbins and Arven Wayne Bearden; and brother, Arthur J. Philpott.
Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2012, at Broussard’s.
