Mary Messina Henningson, 96, of Beaumont, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation in Lynchburg, Virginia.
She was born May 24, 1915, to Francis Cognato Messina and Carlo Messina, in Patterson, Louisiana; and had been a longtime resident of the Beaumont area. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a loyal parishioner, Eucharistic Minister and lector.
Survivors include her son, Paul Henningson and his wife, Jane of Lynchburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Kevin Henningson of Lynchburg, Virginia, P.J. Henningson II and his wife, Liz of Charlotte, North Carolina; nephew, Carl A. Messina of Vidor; and great nieces and nephews, LeeAnn Aldrich and her husband, Paul, Carla Peppers and her husband, Doc, Mary Whitaker, Mike Messina and his wife, Janice, and their families.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband of forty-seven years, Rock; sister, Inez McBride; brother-in-law, Tommy McBride; and brother, Carl Messina.
A gathering of her family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 Orange Street, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s.
