Madelyn C. Brown, 79, of Nederland, died Monday, February 6, 2012, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. Born in Eunice, Louisiana on June 18, 1932, to Vernice McManus Crane and Otha Alexander Crane, she had been a resident of the Mid-County area since 1971. Madelyn enjoyed reading, traveling and loved her church and family.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years, Jerry Brown of Nederland; son, W. Douglas Brown and his wife, Eugenia of Madison, Wisconsin; daughters, Debra Lynn Skinner and her husband, Bradley of Xi’an, China and Linda Sue Cullums and her husband, Robert of Beaumont; grandchildren, W. Nathaniel Brown of Madison, Wisconsin, Bryan Scott Skinner and his wife, Heather of Mansfield, Sarah Elise Skinner of Mansfield and Danielle Denise Williams of Beaumont; and great grandson, Jackson Daniel Cooper of Beaumont.
Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Broussard’s.
