Kenneth Ray Wood, 61, of Lumberton, died Monday, February 6, 2012. He was born April 18, 1950, in Austin, and had been a resident of Lumberton for twenty-six years. He was a United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam, and was a maintenance manager for DynMcDermott Petroleum Operations.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Sandy Wood of Lumberton; sons, John Brandon Sledge of Las Vegas, Nevada and Ryan Wood of Beaumont; daughter, Brittany Slaughter and her husband, Michael of Jacksonville, Arkansas; granddaughter, Grayson Slaughter; mother, Mozelle Bechtner of Barstow, California; brothers, John Wood, Ernie Wood, Tommy Wood and Perry Wood; and sisters, Linda Taylor and Ann Carroll.
His memorial service will be 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with a gathering of his family and friends to follow the service.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Broussard’s.
