Ruth Rice Henderson, 94 of Winnie died February 2, 2012 at the Arboretum of Winnie.
A native of Iola she was born on August 17, 1917 and was a longtime resident of Winnie. Ruth was a retired beautician where she operated her own shop, “My Lady Beauty Shop” for over forty years.
She is survived by her five children, sons, Roger McCary of Mexico, Gene Watson of Newton, Bill Meissner of Stowell; daughters, Donna Gandy of Silsbee and Mary Simon of Winnie; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday morning, February 6, 2012, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie, with graveside services at noon at Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening, February 5, 2012, at Broussard’s.
