Jessie Harty

She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed … a woman that fears the Lord … she shall be praised.” Proverbs 31: 2, 27, 28, 30.

On Tuesday, January 31, 2012, Jessie Harty of Beaumont, went home to be with her Lord.

Born on November 7, 1919, in Cornett, Texas, Jessie grew up in that rural area and married Harold Harty, the love of her life. Harold preceded her in death in 1993 after fifty-five years of marriage. During these years, Jessie raised three children and later entered the field of real estate.

She thoroughly enjoyed her years as a real estate agent and later earned her broker’s license. The joy of helping people find “just the right house” earned her many honors and awards. It was this love of helping people that kept her in the real estate field until just this last year at the age of ninety-one.

Along with her real estate, Jessie also managed Willowchase Apartments for many years. She loved her job and never tired of “her tenants”.

More than all her accomplishments in the business field, her greatest endeavor was her family and her faith. The legacy she leaves includes her three children, Barbara Hall, and Connie Garth of Beaumont, Texas and Bill Harty of Euless; son-in-law, Danny Hall and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Harty.

Her grandchildren and their families were her favorite topics of conversation.

Jennifer Hall Thomas and her children, Tess and Trinity of Beaumont;

Connie Garth’s children:

Jessica Garth Whitney and her husband, Jason, and their children, Ty, Tory, Tate and True all of Beaumont;

Nonie was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Garth who blessed her with two great-grandchildren, Kaelyn and Jackson, of Silsbee.

Bill and Stephanie Harty’s children: Joanna Harty Hise and her husband, Jeremy, and their son, Asher, Joelle Harty Mobley and her husband, Mike, and Jocelyn, Jillian, Jessie and Jonathan Harty all of Euless.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 3, 2012, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont, with interment on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Marietta, Texas. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Broussard’s.

We would like to thank you Nonie for a life well lived. You have been a beautiful example to us of how we should be every day. Your unfailing love and your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has truly changed our hearts for eternity. The lessons you have taught us and the memories you are leaving us will never be forgotten. We love you!
