Walter R. Resch, Jr., 86, of Nederland died January 29, 2012 at his residence. Born February 6, 1925 in Port Arthur, he was the son of Ione Nettie Bahm Resch and Walter Raymond Resch, Sr. He was a World War II United States Army Air Corps veteran and retired from Sears Roebuck as a refrigeration service maintenance repairman.
He is survived by his children, Kathy Resch Wales and her husband, Stan of Georgetown, Terri Pate and Mark Resch and his wife, Pandora all of Nederland; grandchildren, Jarrod Marrs, Jon Marrs, Jaime Marrs, Jessica Schneider, Brad Hanley, Josh Pate, Joseph Pate, Amanda Resch, Colt Resch, Pete Resch, Logan Gaikoski, and Crystal Gaikoski; and great grandchildren, Sydney, Tyson, Max, Faith, Austin, Alex, Lillie, Kylie and Camber. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Blanche Gomez Resch; and daughters, Randy Marrs and Nancy Gaikoski.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Broussard’s Chapel, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland followed by burial at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday evening, February 1, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
