Mary Alice Davis

Mary Alice Davis, 79, of Nederland, died Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Renaissance Hospital, Groves. Born July 29, 1932, in Port Arthur to Grace Campbell and Benny Laird, she was a lifelong resident of the area.  Mary was employed as an accounts payable clerk with Jefferson County.  She enjoyed reading the newspaper, watching football and baseball, and fishing. Mary was a generous and faithful person who was crazy about her grandchildren and her dog, Patches.   She is survived by her husband, Douglas D. Davis; children, Cheryl  Ann Davis of Nederland, Bradley Doyle Davis and his wife, Kathy of Port Neches and Susan Allen of Beaumont; grandchildren, Heather M. Domingue, Chase Douglas Allen, Taylor Grace Allen, Breah Elizabeth Davis, Chance Jason Davis and Larry Allen, Jr.; great grandchildren, Amberly Ann Domingue, Paige Renee Domingue and Trenton Lee Coburn; sisters, Mabel Hudgins of Arlington and Margaret Wilson of Kilgore.   Mary is preceded in death by her parents.  

A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie Texas, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.  A gathering of Mary’s family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Broussard’s.
