Violet Ann Dillon

Violet Ann Dillon, 72, of Nederland, died Thursday, January 19, 2012.  Born May 4, 1939, in Beaumont, to Annie Mott and L.L. Knoblock, she was a lifelong resident of the area.  Violet enjoyed cooking and could grow anything. She loved her dogs, Sweety and Lucy.   Violet is survived by her daughters, Denise Sponsler and her husband, Cliff of Nederland and Donna York and her husband, Jamie of Fannett; grandchildren, Jason Dillon, Jacob York, Randy Sponsler, Shelly Sponsler and Tressa Dillon; sisters, Effie Anderson and her husband, Andy of Fannett and Carol Knoblock of Port Arthur; brothers, L.J. Knoblock and his wife, Doris of Lake Charles and Eddie Paul Knoblock and his wife, Delores of Livingston; and numerous nieces and nephews.   She is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Bubba Dillon and Wayne Dillon; sister, Marie Doucet.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 23, 2012, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Broussard’s.
