Rose Marie Richey, 85, of Cheek, passed away on January 20, 2012, in Lumberton. A resident of Cheek most of her life, she was born on April 21, 1926, to Emma Lee Myers Rivers and Jesse Arnold Rivers, in Gatesville, Texas. Rose will be remembered as a great mother and a very loving grandmother, with her family and faith as an important part of her life.
Survivors include her husband, Will Allen Richey; daughter, Carol Lynn Pounders and her husband, Johnny of Lumberton; son, Dale Allen Richey and his wife, Deborah of Kountze; granddaughters, Tammy Renee Richardson, Andrea Tiner, Stephanie Wise, Amanda Coplen, and Kimberly Woods; grandson, James Brittan Seaman; sixteen great-grandchildren, Jordan Hightower, Emily Seaman, Hayden Seaman, Ryder Richardson, Haley Tiner, Zachary Tiner, Kavan Wise, Tristen Wise, Talyn Wise, Hannah Wise, Shy Coplen, Morgan Coplen, Caden Coplen, Kaitlyn Woods, Baylee Woods, Seth Woods; and sister, Ruby Buck of Willis.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Wanda Lee Etheridge, Celia Mae Bosley; and grandson, Michael Dale Richey.
Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 23, 2012, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Broussard’s.
