Nancy Ames, 79, of Sour Lake, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.
She was born June 12, 1932, in Hope, Arkansas, to Georgia Webb Fincher and Joe B. Fincher, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont. She was a retired accounting clerk with the Port of Beaumont.
Survivors include her husband of sixty years, Jimmie Ames of Sour Lake; son, Mark Ames and his wife, Missy of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Malcolm Ames and his wife, Wendi, Glenn Ames and his wife, Cayce Bond, Greg Ames, and Garrett Ames; one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Ames; and sister, Betty Ray of Houston.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Lester Fincher of Washington, Arkansas.
A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Broussard’s.
Additional services will be held at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home, Hope, Arkansas.
