Terrell John Bernard, 90, of Nederland died January 15, 2012 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. Born January 8, 1922 in Sulphur, Louisiana and lifelong resident of Nederland, he was the son of Emily Bowie Bernard and Seymour E. Bernard. He was a United States World War II Army veteran and was a welder with Franklin Steel. Terrell was known for reciting the Rosary on Fridays and he enjoyed gardening and playing cards.
He is survived by his son, Mike Bernard and his wife, Dottie of Nederland; daughter, Susan Zook of Nederland; grandchildren, Chris Campbell, Catherine Penn, Clint Campbell, Corey Campbell, Misty Little, Paul Bernard, and Randy Rice; brother, Roland Bernard of Brookeland; seventeen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn Edith Bernard; daughter, Linda Campbell; brother, Rynell Bernard; and his grandson, Craig Campbell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland followed by burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday evening, January 18, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
